Sometimes You Forget Things

Well as I was sitting in my room, talking to someone about family. It simply started with me saying that I am excited about my sister coming home and then this friend decided to ask me about my neices and nephews(and their names...shes kind of is obsessed). I told her about my two nieces and nephews but suddenly realized I was forgetting someone. I completely forgot about the one nephew no one ever talks about.

When my sister was 16 years old, she made a lot of mistakes. She got pregnant and my parents told her that she was not allowed to have an abortion. She decided to have the baby and gave birth to a boy in the middle of the summer. She named him Scott Michael. I barely remember anything about him. He had a lot of dark brown hair. I remember seeing my mom crying out in the hallway when she was told that the lawyer was there to take custody of him and deliver him to his parents. I remember barely being able to hold him because I was not that old. There isn't much more I can remember.

I did the math and right now he is about 13 years old. It's crazy to think that my sister went through all of that at the age of 16. I don't think I will be ready for a kid for another two to three years. It's scary to think about kids for me.

I mean some people are thinking about marriage already. I just can't imagine any of that yet. All I can say is thank God I have a couple more years before marriage and children become an option for me.

I can't even imagine what that would feel like. I hope you get to meet him someday soon! And my brother's name is Scott Michael!

P.S. He's probably a conservative.
P.P.S. I hope that's not violating our no-political-speech weeklong vow.
